The IMI Conference is a free-flowing meeting of the minds with emphasis on the independent sector of the music industry. The goal of the conference is to bring together individuals who either work or aspire to work in the music industry. The conference includes small groups, guest speakers, panels, and nighttime mixer events.
So What?! Music Festival
Originally called South By So What?!, So What?! Music Festival started out as the annual anniversary show for Third String Productions. The festival was officially founded in 2008. Notable acts that have performed include Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember, G Eazy, Of Mice & Men, Taking Back Sunday, The Used, New Found Glory, and Underoath.
Third String Productions
In 2004, while still in High School, founder Mike Ziemer put together a show for some of his friends at a local community center in Plano, TX. To make the show happen, Ziemer borrowed $500. Following the success of the first concert, Third String Productions was born. The company now promotes concerts in Arizona, California, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.
Third String Records
Originally launched in 2005, Third String Records was created to help artists that founder Mike Ziemer was managing. The original label bands were Red Letter Union (later known as Kid Liberty) and The Background. The label was relaunched in 2014 to help another band Ziemer was managing, Dear You. The current active roster includes Assuming We Survive, Desires, Idle Lives, and Mariner.
